\nShape: A beautiful katana with slightly wide mihaba, thick kasane, slightly deep curvature, and extended kissaki.
\nJigane: The hada is well-forged with visible grain. The jigane appears to be itame like the hiraji, likely forged from a single piece of steel. Typically, the shinogiji shows masame and is forged from different steel, making this piece quite unique.
\nHamon: Nie-deki with gunome-midare mixed with notare and small ashi.
\nBoshi: Turns down and returns in a small round shape (komaru).<\/p>\n

Features: Chikush\u016b-j\u016b Onizuka Yoshikuni is said to have continued forging swords until the age of 89.
\nThe shinogiji is itame rather than masame, which is a significant difference and unique feature of this sword.<\/p>\n

Koshirae: Japanese Imperial Army sword mounting.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: This katana by Chikush\u016b-j\u016b Onizuka Yoshikuni was likely kept at home for many years, and when the owner’s son went off to war, the father mounted it as a military sword for him.
\nWith a blade length of 69 cm and excellent craftsmanship, this is a highly recommended piece.<\/p>\n
