Translation: Made by Masamitsu, a retainer of Hirado in Hizen Province, at the request of Chikuzen samurai Torii Satoyuki, on a day marked Tsuchinoto-Mi (\u5df1\u5df3) in December, 1818.<\/p>\n

We divide works in to Saijo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku,and Regular Saku.
\nThis piece is ranked as Jyojyo Saku for Masamitsu. <\/p>\n

Era: the end of Edo period, 1818<\/p>\n

Shape: slightly wide and thick blade with curvature. It feels longer due to its tapering shape toward the tip.
\nJigane: plain Jigane with much Jinie
\nHamon: Ko-nie base Notare with Ashi and Sunagashi and NIju-ba. <\/p>\n

Features:
\nThis piece was made by order. While the hamon appears gentle, it features activity such as double hamon (nijuba) and small ashi. The jigane is finely covered with small ji-nie, resulting in an overall bright and clear appearance.<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nTsuba: made of iron
\nFuchikashira: Shakudo base carved with a dragonfly.
\nMenuki: motif is unknown. <\/p>\n
