and Regular Saku.<br \/>\nThis piece is ranked as Jyo Saku among works attributed to this smith.<br \/>\nHabaki: Double-layered gold-covered habaki.<br \/>\nBlade Length: 2 shaku 2 sun 7 bu \u2013 68.8 cm (27.09 in)<br \/>\nCurvature: 6 bu \u2013 1.82 cm (0.72 in)<br \/>\nMekugi Hole: 4<br \/>\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.92 cm (1.15 in)<br \/>\nWidth at Yokote (Sakihaba): 1.62 cm (0.64 in)<br \/>\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.66 cm (0.26 in)<br \/>\nSword Weight:<br \/>\nShape: A blade with deep curvature, carved with double grooves (futatsu-suji-hi) on both sides.<br \/>\nThe kissaki is standard.<br \/>\nJigane: A fine, clear jigane with visible utsuri.<br \/>\nA beautiful and tight steel.<br \/>\nHamon: A suguha-based hamon with small ashi appearing in places.<br \/>\nThe boshi is round and returns finely.<\/p>\n<p>Features: Although the red lacquer inscription is unclear, it is believed to have once read \u201cDaiji Matahachir\u014d Toshitada\u201d in red characters.<br \/>\nThe blade has been attributed to the Enju school based on its workmanship and is accompanied by a Tokubetsu Hozon Token paper.<br \/>\nThe jigane is beautiful and healthy, tightly forged with enjoyable hataraki such as small ashi appearing in the suguha hamon.<\/p>\n<p>Koshirae:<br \/>\nTsuba: Round iron tsuba with engraved patterns and partial gold inlay.<br \/>\nFuchikashira: Made of shakudo, with high-relief carving of peonies and butterflies, decorated with gold iroe.<br \/>\nSaya: Ao-gai chirashi (scattered blue shell inlay) lacquered saya.<br \/>\nKojiri: Made of iron.<br \/>\nMenuki: High-relief carving of dragon motifs, decorated with gold iroe.<\/p>\n<p>Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: The red lacquer signature of Daiji  Matahachir\u014d Toshitada rarely remains today.<br \/>\nHowever, the workmanship clearly indicates it is a work of the Enju school.<br \/>\nA fine piece with utsuri and small ashi in the hamon.<br \/>\nThe koshirae is also very well crafted.<br
