The blending of the ground metal (ji) and patterned metal
(hamon) suggests it might be a pure forged blade. The surface texture resembles the
clear steel of the Aoe school. There is a vertical crack on the kissaki (tip), but it is not a
major concern. Overall, it is a highly recommended top-quality Ko-mihara.

Historical Background: During the later period of the Kamakura era, transportation
flourished nationwide, and ports became vibrant, giving rise to economically powerful
samurai. The dissatisfaction towards the Hojo clan, who sought to strengthen their
power, gradually intensified. Emperor Go-Daigo aimed to regain political control of the court and eventually overthrew the Kamakura shogunate by gaining support from newly
emerging samurai and retainers.

NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token
Aoi Art estimation paper
Whole Oshigata

Please note: The price does not include the international shipping fees.

Ordering number: AS25693 Katana in Shirasaya (NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Token) Inscription: Mumei (Ko Mihara) 無銘(古三原) (We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku) This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking.
