Shape: wide and thick blade with high Shinogi.
\nJigane: packed Koitame hada with much Jinie and chikei
\nHamon: Nie-deki Gunome and Notare with thick Nioikuchi and rough Nie creating Sunagashi and Kinsuji. <\/p>\n

Features:
\nnoue Shinkai was the second son of Izumi no Kami Kunisada (1st generation), and succeeded as the second generation after the death of his father. It is said that he produced many blades on behalf of his father. Around Manji 4 (1661), he was granted permission by the Imperial Court to put the kikumon (chrysanthemum crest). In Kanbun 12 (1672), he changed his signature to Shinkai. He passed away in Tenna 2 (1682).<\/p>\n

His works are characterized by a well-forged nie and a thick, bright, and clear nioiguchi (the boundary of the temper line).<\/p>\n
