We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
\nThis piece is ranked as Jyo Saku (upper grade) among unsigned works.
\nHabaki: Silver foiled single Habaki.
\nBlade Length: 21.2 cm (8.35 in)
\nCurvature: 0.3 cm (0.12 in)
\nMekugi Hole: 1
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.76 cm (1.09 in)
\nWidth at Tip: 2.71 cm (1.07 in)

Shape: A tanto likely forged in the Tsukuri style.
\nJigane: Ko-itame well-forged, nearly muji (plain).
\nHamon: Nie-deki with deep nioiguchi and a notare pattern.<\/p>\n

Features:\u3000This tanto is thought to have been produced around the late Edo period.
\nCarvings are present on both sides of the tang (nakago), and there is evidence of suriage and a modified machi.<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nSaya (Scabbard): Covered in samegawa (rayskin).
\nMenuki: Made of shakudo with high-relief carvings of what appears to be acorns or chestnuts.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment:This work is considered to date from the late Edo period.
\nBonji characters and grass motifs are carved into the tang.<\/p>\n
