\nHizen-kuni j\u016b Fujiwara Tadahiro was the son of the first-generation Tadayoshi. After his father\u2019s death, his works begin to appear from Kan\u2019ei 10 (1633), and in Kan\u2019ei 18 (1641), at the age of twenty-nine, he received the honorary title \u014cmi Daij\u014d. Throughout his life he never succeeded to the Tadayoshi signature, but continued to sign \u201cTadahiro.\u201d
\nHe worked for roughly sixty years until his death in Genroku 6 (1693) at the age of eighty, leaving behind a large number of swords in a wide variety of styles. His workmanship is renowned, and he is regarded as second only to his father Tadayoshi in skill. Among Hizen-school blades, his jigane is said to be exceptionally beautiful.<\/p>\n
