sakizori (curved toward the tip).<br \/>\nJigane:Ko-itame hada, well-forged and refined steel.<br \/>\nHamon:Nie-based gunome-midare.<br \/>\nFine kinsuji activity is seen, and the boshi enters in a midare pattern.<\/p>\n<p>Features: Naotane was born around 1778 (Ansei 7) in Yamagata, Uzen Province, and was known as Sh\u014dji Minobei.<br \/>\nHe became a disciple of Suishinshi Masahide and later served the Akimoto family along with his master.<br \/>\nHe received the title of Chikuzen Daij\u014d around 1821 (Bunsei 4) and was later appointed as Mino no Suke in 1848 (Kaei 1).<br \/>\nHe passed away on May 7, 1857 (Ansei 4).<br \/>\nNaotane\u2019s style was diverse.<br \/>\nIn his early period (early Bunka era), he made works in the large \u014d-notare style similar to his teacher.<br \/>\nAround the Tenp\u014d era, he adopted the Yamato tradition and also skillfully created works in the S\u014dsh\u016b, Mino, and Yamashiro traditions with suguha.<br \/>\nTaikei Naotane is regarded as one of the representative master swordsmiths of the Shinshinto period.<br \/>\nHis swords from the Tenp\u014d era are especially valued for their excellent jigane and beautiful hamon.<\/p>\n<p>Aoi
