Features:
\nThe Shitahara school was a group of swordsmiths active from the late Muromachi period through the Edo period, mainly around the Hachioji area of present-day Tokyo. They are characterized by their distinctive grainy jigane (steel surface), and their swords were highly valued for practical use.<\/p>\n
