Mumei (Uda).<br \/>\nHabaki: Single plain copper habaki<br \/>\nBlade Length: 26.6 cm (10.47 in)<br \/>\nCurvature: None<br \/>\nMekugi Hole: 1<br \/>\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.79 cm (1.10 in)<br \/>\nThickness (Kasane): 0.66 cm (0.26 in)<br \/>\nSword Weight: 250 g<br \/>\nEra: Mid Muromachi period (around 15th century)<br \/>\nShape:A solidly built tanto in a unique style with a shape reminiscent of both shobu-zukuri and naginata-naoshi.<br \/>\nIt features mitsu-mune (triple ridge back), showing an unusual and robust design.<br \/>\nJigane: Itame-hada with clear grain, well-forged with ji-nie, displaying characteristics typical of swords from the Hokuriku region.<br \/>\nHamon: Made in nie-deki, featuring gunome-midare.<br \/>\nThe boshi has a deep turn-back (kaeri).<\/p>\n<p>Features: This piece was appraised by the Japanese Sword Museum as a work of the Uda school.<br \/>\nThe Uda school originated from Yamato\u2019s Uda district and later moved to Etchu province.<br \/>\nIts founder is said to be Konyudo Kunimitsu from the late Kamakura period.<br \/>\nNotable smiths like Kunifusa, Kunimune, and Kunitomo followed, and the school thrived until the Edo period.<br \/>\nWorks made before the early Muromachi era (before the Oei era, 1394\u2013) are classified as Ko-Uda, and later works are referred to as Uda.<\/p>\n<p>Koshirae:<br \/>\nTsuba: Mokko-shaped iron tsuba with raised rim, composed of layered iron (approximately 7 layers visible), decorated with engraved crests.<br \/>\nFuchikashira: Shakudo nanako ground with high-relief dragon design and gold iroe (coloring).<br \/>\nSaya: Glossy black lacquered saya.<br \/>\nMenuki: Chrysanthemum design carved in high relief on shakudo, with gold iroe.<br \/>\nKozuka: Shakudo nanako ground with high-relief lion design and gold iroe.<br \/>\nKogatana: Included.<\/p>\n<p>Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: This piece is firmly built and was appraised as Uda.<br \/>\nThe blade begins with a naginata
