\nThis work is attributed to “Oyakunisada” \u2014 the teacher and de facto mentor of Inoue Shinkai.
\nIt also carries stylistic traits inherited from Echigo no Kami Kuni\u2013.

\nThis sword has been suriage (shortened).
\nIt has a slightly wide body, thick kasane, moderate curvature, and an extended kissaki, forming a well-balanced shape.
\nJigane:
\nWell-forged ko-itame hada with fine and refined texture.
\nHamon:
\nNie-deki mixed with notare.
\nThe boshi is midare-komi (irregular turn-back into the tip).<\/p>\n

Features: The signature “Sesshu Izumi no Kami Fujiwara Kunisada” refers to the first-generation Kunisada, also known as “Oyakunisada”.
\nThis sword has been shortened, but the signature remains.
\nKunisada was born in Hyuga and later became a disciple of Echigo no Kami Kuniyuki.
\nAlthough once believed to have studied under Kunihiro, this seems to be a mistake.
\nIn Genna 9 (1623), he received the title “Izumi no Kami”.
\nIn his later years, due to ill health, many works were made by his son, the second-generation Shinkai, as dai-saku (substitute work).
\nHe passed away on May 5th of Keian 5 (1652) at the age of 63.<\/p>\n
