Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.<br \/>\nThis blade is ranked as Saijyo Saku among the works attributed to Mumei (Hatakeda Sanemori).<br \/>\nHabaki: Double-layered, gold-covered<br \/>\nBlade Length: 56.8 cm (22.36 in)<br \/>\nCurvature: 1.0 cm (0.39 in)<br \/>\nMekugi Hole: 2<br \/>\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.36 cm<br \/>\nWidth at Tip (Sakihaba): 1.76 cm<br \/>\nThickness of the rim:0.44 cm<br \/>\nSword Weight: 400 g<br \/>\nEra: Mid-Kamakura period, around Sh\u014d\u014d era (circa 1288)<br \/>\nShape: A slightly small tachi-style wakizashi with standard width and thickness.<br \/>\nThe curvature is slightly shallow, and the kissaki is somewhat long.<br \/>\nJigane: A bo-hi (groove) is carved on one side and runs off the blade.<br \/>\nIt shows itame-hada with visible utsuri.<br \/>\nHamon: A nioi-deki temper line with choji-midare as the main pattern, mixed with gunome-midare.<br \/>\nKin-suji appears in the blade.<br \/>\nThe boshi drops gently and turns back in a small circle (ko-maru).<\/p>\n<p>Features: Hatakeda Sanemori was an esteemed swordsmith active around the Sh\u014d\u014d era and is ranked as Jyojyo Saku among Koto smiths.<br \/>\nThe shinogi-ji on one side shows itame-hada, which is thought to be the same as the surface jigane, indicating it is likely made from a single piece.<\/p>\n<p>Koshirae:<br \/>\nTsuba: Vertical oval-shaped shakudo nanako-ji tsuba, with a high-relief carving of a dragon and gold inlay.<br \/>\nFuchikashira: Shakudo nanako-ji with high-relief carvings of lions and peonies, decorated with gold inlay.<br \/>\nSignature: Naomitsu<br \/>\nSaya: Black ishime-ji saya with a gold maki-e design of a cloud dragon.<br \/>\nKojiri: Shakudo with a high-relief carving of a dragon.<br \/>\nMenuki: High-relief design of lions.<\/p>\n<p>Aoi Art\u2019s Comment:\u3000Although unsigned, this blade is suriage with a length close to that of a tachi.<br \/>\nIt beautifully displays the choji-midare pattern of Hatakeda Sanemori from the mid-Kamakura period.<br \/>\nThe koshirae is also superb, with a gold-painted dragon design on the saya.<br \/>\nHighly recommended piece.<\/p>\n<p>43rd NBTHK Juyo Token<br
