\nThis piece is ranked as Jyo Saku among works attributed to this school.

\nHabaki: Plain copper habaki with single silver cover
\nBlade Length: 38.1 cm (15.00 in)
\nCurvature: 1.1 cm (0.43 in)
\nMekugi Hole: 1
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.97 cm (1.17 in)
\nWidth at Tip (Sakihaba): 2.51 cm (0.99 in)
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.62 cm (0.24 in)
\nEra: Late Muromachi period
\nShape: A wakizashi with wide mihaba, deep curvature, and a flat construction.
\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada with beautiful steel, showing shirake utsuri.
\nHamon: Nie-based with continuous small gunome-midare; the b\u014dshi is round and returns slightly long.<\/p>\n

Features: This blade was judged as Mumei (Shimada) by the Token Museum.
\nThe Shimada school was active from the early Muromachi period, inheriting the Soshu tradition and incorporating the style of Masahiro.
\nShimada Yoshisuke, the founder, trained many students, and their works often reflect Soshu-den characteristics.<\/p>\n
