\nShape:Suriage and machi-okuri work with a mitsu-mune.
\nThe omote side is carved with a ken (sword) and bonji (Sanskrit character), along with three grooves.
\nThe ura side has two grooves carved.
\nJigane:Ko-itame hada, well-forged and refined.
\nHamon:Nie-deki with slightly deep nioiguchi, forming a gunome-midare.The boshi turns back deeply.<\/p>\n

Features:\u3000This piece embodies the typical appearance of a tanto.
\nHowever, it has been shortened (suriage) and has machi-okuri.<\/p>\n

\nIt reflects the wide-bodied style characteristic of the Yamashiro school.
\nSwords from this era often feature carvings on the blade.
\nThe Nobukuni line continued from the first to the fourth generation.
\nThis piece is likely the work of the late first generation or the early second generation Nobukuni (Saeemon no Jo).<\/p>\n
