Shape: The blade has a substantial width and thickness.
\nIt has a curvature with a reasonably long boshi.
\nJigane: Well-forged fine itame-hada, creating a beautiful surface.
\nHamon: Suguha with notable activity, and a rounded boshi.<\/p>\n

Features: Osaka Tanba swords have a distinctive characteristic where the rounded part of the boshi is visibly round on both sides.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: Initially, Tanba no Kami Yoshimichi was active in Kyoto, but in the second generation, they split into Kyoto and Osaka branches.
\nThe Kyoto branch was permitted to engrave the chrysanthemum crest on the tang, while the Osaka branch was not and operated with the usual hamon.
\nIn my opinion, Osaka Tanba swords often exhibit superior craftsmanship, especially in the suguha hamon, producing many fine works.
\nThe boshi of Osaka Tanba swords typically shows an additional round temper line outside the main temper line, making them easily identifiable.
\nDuring the Genroku period, the demand for swords decreased, prompting various innovations to maintain sales.
\nThis might be why Tanba no Kami Yoshimichi created the unique suguha hamon.
