\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.80 cm (0.31 in)

\nEra: Edo period, around Keicho era (1596\u20131615)
\nShape: A wide and thick wakizashi with mitsumune and a sturdy appearance.
\nThe omote side is engraved with three Buddhist figures.
\nThe ura side has carvings of a torii gate, plum blossoms, and a bird.
\nJigane: Ko-itame hada, well-forged, forming a fine texture.
\nHamon: Nioi-deki with small irregular gunome-midare, mixed with ko-ashi.
\nSunagashi runs along the grain.
\nBoshi is irregular and turns back in a small circle.<\/p>\n

Features: Kanesaki was a swordsmith from Echizen.
\nHe was the father of the first generation Yasutsugu and was highly skilled.<\/p>\n

\nTsuba: Shakudo nanako-ji, engraved with chrysanthemum design and decorated with gold inlay.
\nFuchikashira: Shakudo nanako-ji, engraved with plum blossom design and gold inlay.
\nMenuki: Flower and bird motif

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment:This is a sturdy, slightly extended tanto-style wakizashi from the Keicho period, finely carved with horimono on the blade.
\nIt comes with a complete koshirae.
\nA highly recommended piece.<\/p>\n
