We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku and Regular Saku.
\nThis work is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works of Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke.
\nHabaki: Single-layered copper habaki
\nBlade Length: 28.6 cm (11.26 in)
\nCurvature: 0.9 cm (0.35 in)
\nMekugi Hole: 2
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 0.49 cm (0.19 in)
\nThickness of rim (Kasane): 0.86 cm (0.34 in)
\nSword Weight: 270 g
\nEra: Edo period, Shinshinto
\nShape: Thick blade with slight curvature, featuring a kurikara carving of Fud\u014d My\u014d\u014d and dragon on the front, and two carvings with characters on the reverse side.
\nJigane: Well-forged ko-itame hada forming a beautiful jigane.
\nHamon: Nie-based gunome-midare.<\/p>\n

Features: Although signed as Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke, the signature is regrettably considered to be gimei (false signature).
\nNevertheless, the blade is thick and solidly made.
\nThe production period is thought to be from the Yokoyama school of the Shinshinto era.<\/p>\n

Koshirae:
\nTsuba: Vertical oval-shaped iron tsuba with openwork carving.
\nSignature: Sadahiro
\nFuchikashira: Shakudo nanako base with carvings of persimmons and crows, decorated with gold and copper.
\nSaya (Scabbard): Aogai chirashi (scattered shell inlay) lacquered saya.
\nMenuki: Carvings of human and animal figures with gold highlights.
\nKozuka & small blade: Iron base with designs of bell crickets, butterflies, and flowers in gold.<\/p>\n

Aoi Art\u2019s Comment: Though this piece is signed Kawachi no Kami Kunisuke, we believe it is a gimei.
\nHowever, it is a robustly made work, with carvings on the upper section of the tanto, and is considered to be well-made.<\/p>\n
