is carved on the tang.<br \/>\nA rare feature of this sword is the engraved date inscription.<br \/>\nIt was carefully preserved as a daimyo-registered wakizashi, as indicated by the registration certificate issued on March 14, 1951.<\/p>\n<p>Koshirae (Mountings)<br \/>\nTsuba: A round iron tsuba with a gold-finished rim.<br \/>\nThe signature reads &#8220;Motokazu Nyudo Soten&#8221; (\u85fb\u5510\u5b50\u5b97\u5178\u5165\u9053\u64cd\u5178\u88fd).<br \/>\nFuchikashira: Shakudo nanako ground with high-relief chrysanthemums and warriors, accentuated with gold inlays.<br \/>\nSaya (Scabbard): Dark brown with fan-shaped black carvings at the tip.<br \/>\nKojiri: Iron base with an insect design, possibly a beetle, with gold inlays.<br \/>\nMenuki: Shakudo base with high-relief chrysanthemums.<br \/>\nSignature: &#8220;Hanaji J\u016b Nagamine&#8221;
