We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo Saku, Jyojyo Saku, Jyo Saku, and Regular Saku.
\nThis piece is ranked as Jyo Saku among the works attributed to Mumei (Jumyo).
\nHabaki: Single-layered copper with black color
\nBlade Length: 28.8 cm (11.34 in)
\nCurvature: 0.2 cm (0.08 in)
\nMekugi Hole: 1
\nWidth at Base (Motohaba): 2.54 cm (1.00 in)
\nThickness (Kasane): 0.55 cm (0.22 in)
\nEra: Early Edo period
\nShape: Standard width and thickness, hira-zukuri tanto.
\nJigane: Well-forged itame-hada with attached ji-nie.
\nHamon: Ko-nie-deki, ko-gunome-midare, with the boshi rounded and returning.<\/p>\n

Features:This tanto is attributed to Mumei, Jumyo.
\nIt is said that many samurai of the time were superstitious, and there was a custom of presenting swords to those who had distinguished themselves in battle.
\nDuring the Edo period, it became customary to present swords as an important greeting among daimyo and samurai.
\nThe name “Jumyo” (\u5bff\u547d, meaning “longevity”) was considered auspicious, and such swords were often given to the elderly as a token of well-wishing for a long life.<\/p>\n

\nFuchikashira: Shibuichi base with carved figures.
\nSaya (Scabbard): Black roiro lacquered saya.
\nMenuki: Carving of figures and flowers.
\nKozuka & Small Blade: Brass base with carvings of birds and waves, decorated with gold, silver, and shakudo inlay.

\nThere are some areas with rust, but both the blade and koshirae can be enjoyed as a whole.
