Era: Late Kamakura period, around Bunpo era (1317-1319)
\nShape: Suriage Machiokuri little thin blade with small curvature and little long kissaki.
\nJigane: Itame hada with chikei and utsuri.
\nHamon: bright and soft straight hamon mixed with Gunome and Choji. <\/p>\n

Features: Yamato swords have 5 famous school and Shikkake is one of them. In Yamato, leading temples organized their priestly armies to oppose the Imperial Court, and there was a lot of demand for swords. Shikkake school was founded by Norinaga in the late Kamakura period and they were until the Nanbokucho period. The polish on this sword is very good, and the hamon is bright and clear and Chikei and Utsuri appears well. It’s not gorgeous, but it’s an excellent and classy piece.<\/p>\n
