This sword belongs to Jyo-jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished by fine polisher.
Habaki : Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length : 37.8 cm or 14.88inches.
Sori : 1.6cm or 0.62inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 3.03 cm or 1.19inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.5 cm or 0.59inches.
Kasane :0.55 cm or 0.21inches.
The weight of the sword :385grams.
Era : Late Muromachi period
Shape : Ubu-Nakago, the blade is broad and thick with deep Sori and longer Kissaki. Well-made solid shape with healthy condition like the touch of the surface of clam shell.
Jigane :Itame-hada mixed with Mokume-hada, Jinie well-attached, Hadadachi, visible Hadame.
Hamon :Niedeki, uneven Gunome-midare, Ha works in Koashi, Boshi is Midarekomi.

Special feature:It is Ubu-Mumei, but attributed as Shimada. Shimada is a sword smith school influenced by Soshu Masahiro school. Very well-made Soshuden copy. Yet, famous Shibata sensei judged this as Mumei Hida Kami Ujifusa. It is not sure which is correct, but enjoy this piece of art by studying well. Well-polished, very attractive. We definitely recommend this sword for you.
