Era: The Edo period, the Kanei era.
Shape: There is approx. 5cm Suriage Machiokuri. However, it is a well-made early work by Tadahiro 2st generation, because it has deeper Sori and longer Kissaki.
Jigane: Well-grained Koitamehada with Jinie and Chikei.
Hamon: Nie is extraordinary deep, Nioikuchi gets deeper towards the tip, Koashi works well and Nijuba works, Kinsuji works well in Hachu. Boshi turns back round while sharpening.

Special Feature: This work was made in the Kanei era, just after the 1st generation passed away and when the 2nd had succeeded to Hashimoto family. He was supported by his skillful pupils to make his works. This work looks like Koto: really well-made with great Jigane. He was called originally Shin Saemon Jo, and after the death of his father in Kanei 9, he succeeded to the name of Tadahiro and Oumi Daijo at the age of 19, in Kanei 18.

From Aoi Art: This work has Suriage Machiokuri, but it is an early work of Tadahiro 2nd and we can feel his youth on this work: the powerful youth to forge masterpieces. Sori is deep, Jigane is well-concentrated Koitamehada, Hamon with deep Nioikuchi and lots of Kinsuji. In Kambun era, he made lots of kinda “stereotyped” Suguha works. It is rather elaborately made, but we could also say that they are all the same. This work is made in Kanei 16-17. There is some rattling in the Habaki.
