From Aoi Art: Hidenobu is a young signature of Toumei. He was originally called Yoshinoshin, born in Kyoto as the first son of a family of renting business. He became a pupil of Goto Tojo at the age of 13, and he was approved to use kanji of “東”, one letter from his master Tojo(東乗), and started to call himself as Toumei(東明). Later he became a pupil under Goto Ichijo and trained hard enough to be allowed to use the name of “Issai” as a metalsmith.
