Special feature: Noshu Seki Zenryoke Echizen Yoshikado was a pupil of
Omura Kaboku. Omura Kaboku was originally a surgeon and moved
to Mito after he served for Matsudaira Mitsunaga of Echigo Takada
Domain, he made more than 100 works while he served there,
however it is very rare that we meet his works. He made this work as
a pupil of Omura Kaboku.
He had many signatures: Noshu Seki Zenryoke Echizen Yoshikado,
Kawamurashi Sayuemon, Echizen Kami Yoshikado(first Mei) and
Musashi Kami Yoshikado. In Kambun 12, he moved to Mito Daimachi
to serve for Tokugawa Mitsukuni(Mito Komon). Later he became a
pupil of Omura Kaboku and changed his name as Bando Taro Chinsei
Nyudo Bokuden in Empo 4. He passed away on the 28th of July,
Jokyo 5.

From Aoi Art: This work is Suguha-deki, influenced by his master, however
Koashi and Ha work well and Shirake-usuri appears: apparently it
looks like Koto. The name “Bando Taro Chinsei Nyudo Bokuden”
was given to him by Tokugawa Mitsukuni in Empo 4(1674) when
he was called himself as Musashi Kami Yoshikado. Bando Taro is
one of the names of Tonegawa river, the largest river in Japan,
maybe his master was so proud of him and he wanted to insist
that his sword smith was the best in Kanto area. We truly
recommend this one for you.
