This sword belongs to Saijo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high.
Blade length :　71.6　cm or 28.18 inches.
Sori : 1.8 cm or 0.70 inches.
Mekugi : 1　
Width at the hamachi : 2.90 cm or 1.14 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.15 cm or 0.84 inches.
Kasane : 0.58 cm or 0.22 inches.
Era : Edo period, around Keian era.
Shape : Regular wideth and thickness blade with large Sori.
The Kissaki is long. The shape is elegant.
Jigane : Ko-Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
The Jigane is typical Hizen Konuka Hada.
Shinogi-Ji: Itame Hada and Masame Hada.
Hamon : From Hamachi, Nie Deki Suguha, and then Gunome Midare
with thick Nioikuchi. The Habuchi is soft. In Ha, there are Sunagashi
and Kinsuji. Boshi is Midarekomi and Hakikake style.

Special feature:He was born in 1598 as a son of Yoshiie. Yoshiie was also a swordsmith of Hizen province.
Tadakuni was a pupil of Tadayoshi the First who consolidated the foundations of Hizen-to.
Tadakuni was designated Harima Daijo in 1634 at the age of 37. At the same time he started
to make sword for the domain of Ogi in Hizen province. He passed away in 1691, aged 94.
He was very good at gunome-midare hamon with deep nioi-kuchi and his sword was ranked
at Shinto-Josaku. This blade has tiny Kitae-Kizu around the Monouchi part.
But it is not serious.

That Hamon remind of cumulonimubus of the summer sky.
In Ha, there are many Sunagashi and Kinsuji.
According to the book, Tadakuni is mentioned as Jyo Saku on the book.
In my opinion, he is ranked as JyoJyo Saku.
This blade is masterpiece of Tadakuni.
The blade has already the NBTHK Juyo paper.
