Signature :Mumei(unsigned) attributed to Den Mihara Masahiro.

Binngo Koku Komihara Masahiro
Osuriage Mumei, Masa is , clear Jigane.
There are Yamato atmosphere added Suguha base.
The Jiha is strong feeling and bright. That is exactly reminding Yamato
The Shinogi is hight and narrow, it is characteristic of the Mihara Masahiro.
This is masterpiece of blade amoung that school.
Blade length is 2 Shaku 3sun 4bu Han.

Chu Koto: Jyo Saku: Bingo
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by highest polisher.
Habaki:gold wrapped double habaki.
Blade length : 71.0 cm or 27.95 inches.
Sori : 2.0 cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.95cm or 1.16 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.2 cm or 0.86 inches.
Kasane : 0.7cm or 0.27 inches.
Era : Nanbokucyo Shitoku era.
Shape : O suriage mumei(cut shortened) rather wide and thick with deep
sori and longer kissaki nice looking shape.
Jigane: Koitame hada and mokume hada mixed
without masame quite well grained texture.
Hamon :Nie deki suguha with koashi scatter like Yamato style
In Hamon, active hataraki, sunagashi, kinsuji work.
Boshi:double hamon round shape and appear Kinsuji
along with hakikake boshi.

Special feature: Komihara Masahiro was working at Bingo province early
Nanbokucyo period. The Jigane is excellent itame and mokume mixed
without Masame hada. The Hamon looks like Yamato special feature
and nice Hakikake boshi .

Koshirae:
Tsuba: iron Tsuba, arabesque is engraved with gold inlay.
Saya: Black Saya with arabesque pattern.
Fuchikashira: Silver, a wave is engraved with gold color.
Menuki: Dragon is engraved with gold color.

From Aoi Art : Komihara Masahiro was working at Bingo province near
Bizen school. So the Jigane and hamon zre very similar with Aoe.
Probably Komihara sometiomes influenced from Aoe school.
This sword was designated as Jyuyo Bijyutsu early stage before the wartime Showa 13th.
The previous owner of this sword was Mr. Yoshiharu Sakiyama and managed as a businessman of the Daido shipping company.
This sword is mentioned in the book(Daisojin) published Syowa 13th September 5th.(1938)
