Habaki: Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length:22.73cm or 8.94inches.

Era: The late Muromachi period, Tensho era.
Shape: Slightly small Tanto which has long Nakago and 1 Mekugi hole: very good shape.
Jigane: Koitame-hada, mixed with Ko-Mokume-hada becomes very close, has Jinie, soft
Jigane reminding of beautiful rice cake Jigane, has lots of Shirake utsuri.
Hamon: Koniedeki, Notare mixed with Ko-Gunome, Boshi turns back with Midarekomi
style.

Special feature: Noshu Seki Ju Kanesaki is a swordsmith from Akasaka Seki, called himself as Hioki Isuke, the father of Inshu Kanesaki, later moved to Bizen.

Menuki: Shakudo plate, leaves of plants are engraved.
Kozuka: Shakudo-Nanako plate, autumn plants and insects are engraved with gold

From Aoi Art: Very classical work by Noshu Seki Ju Kanesaki. Mei and Yasurime are very clear and visible on Nakago. Those days many pieces of Tanto like this were made in Mino and Bizen. Generally, Tanto of Mino has a broad blade with some Sori, but this work has no Sori but it has a beautiful shape with good Jigane and Utsuri. Koshirae is also really elegant.
