The blade was polished.
Habaki :Syakudo and copper double habaki.
Blade length:57.1cm or 22.48inches.
Sori:1.6cm or 0.63inches.

Width at the hamachi:2.78cm or 1.095 inches.
Kasane:0.58 cm or 0.228 inches.
The weight of the sword:505grams.
Era: Late Kamakura period Syowa era. 1312.
Shape: The blade is cut shortened oosuriage mumei.
The blade is regular width thickness with deep sori nagamaki shape.
Jigane: Itame had and massage had mixed with jinie attach and chikei work. On the jigane right Utsuri appears.
Hamon: Nie deki gunome midare and kataochi Gunome mixed. Bo-shi is hakikake style.

Special feature: Osafune Motoshige is confirmed from Seiwa era 5 nen(1316) to Nanbokucho period Jouji era. (about 1362) He must be long life for making swords. The blade looks Kagemitsu and Kanemitsu.

From Aoi Art: Motoshige is a son of the Morishige and older brother of Shigezane. The sword has passed more than 700 hundred years of ages. Of course there are few small kizu on the shindig-ji and top of the shindig. But this sword has passer so long time and still keeping original shape.
