Jigane: Koitame-hada mixed with Mokume-hada, Jinie attached, the surface is beautiful and Utsuri appears.
Shinogiji: Itame-hada mixed with Mokume-hada to be like Masa.

Special feature: Bizen Omiya school was thought to be the swordsmith group which moved to Bizen From Enso Kuni Inokuma Omiya and the works of them were supposed to be the ones with the long signature of Bishu Osafune Morikage, however, it is found by the recent research that rather Chikakage or Yoshikage, a collateral family of Osafune school, should be Omiya Kaji. The conventional theory is now questioned and we are longing for further obvious researches.

Koshirae:
Tsuba: Round-shaped iron Tsuba, lotus leaves are engraved with gold and openworks.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo-Nanako plate, waves are engraved with gold color.
Saya: Kuro-ishimeji Saya, family crest and patterns are painted by Japanese black
lacquer.
Menuki: Birds are engraved with gold color.

From Aoi Art: This Mumei Omiya has a well-balanced blade and beautiful Jigane with Utsuri, its Hamon is elegant Choji-midare in a healthy condition: it must have been preserved for a long time. Saya has patterns like tiger skin and its color is caramel brown: it was perhaps made around the early Meiji period. There are no flaws or defects in the blade and the koshirae is also very nice. Menuki is supposed to be gold-painting, not pure gold, but engraved really well. We truly recommend this piece of art for you. Additionally, this sword has no Bohi on the blade, so we can appreciate the Jigane on Shinogiji closely. Please enjoy the Jigane of Shinogiji made in Nambokucho period. (It became common to make Shinogiji with Masame from the Muromachi period.)
