Explanation: This Tanto Shigehiro was made in the February, Joji era.

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyo-jyo saku Jyo saku and regular saku)
This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: copper single habaki.
Blade length: 27.8 cm or 10.9 inches.
Sori : 0.3 cm or 0.11 inches.
Mekugi :  3
Width at the hamachi: 2.55cm or 1.00 inches.
Kasane : 0.45 cm or 0.17 inches.
The weight of the sword 160 grams.
Era : Nanbokucho period Joji era 1362, 659 years ago.
Shape: Wide but thin sword, Sori also shallow,
Nanbokucho shape sword.
Jigane: Itame-Hada well grained, JInie attached.
There is Kitae-Ware around Habaki part.
Hamon : Niedeki- Gunome Midare.

Special feature: This sword was made by Shigehiro 1st generation. He was a student of Shigemasa.

Tsuba: Copper plate Hamidashi Tsuba, covered by Shakudo.
Fuchikashira: Shibuichi Migaki plate.
Saya: Wooden sword with black leather.
Menuki: Shakudo Nanako plate, flower is engraved with gold color.
Kurikata: Shibuichi plate.
Koziri: Shibuichi plate.

From Aoi Art: The sword was made almost 660 years ago and it was
engraved on backside of the sword. There are some flaws
but Nanbokucho style swords are very are these day. The
sword is very old but was keep carefully to modern time. We
recommend you this sword.
