This sword belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki:Copper with gold colored, single habaki.
length:69.2cm or 27.24inches.
Sori:1.2 cm or 0.47inches.
Mekugi:1
Width at the hamachi:3.26cm or 1.28inches.
Width at the Kissaki:2.1cm or 0.82inches.
Kasane:0.76cm or 0.29inches.
The weight of the sword:890grams.
Era: The late Edo period
Shape: The blade is wide and thick, Sori is normal, Kissaki is slightly long.
Jigane: Itame-hada well grained and gets Masame-ish, Jinie attached, clear and solid
Hadame
Shinogi-ji: As well as Jigane, Itame-hada well grained and gets Masame-ish, Jinie
attached, clean and solid Hadame
Hamon: Suguha from Hamachi, Gunome-midare and Choji-midare after that, forming
beautiful Hamon but the Nioikuchi is sinking. The reason is probably to make the sword
sharper. This resembles Hamon of Yokoyama school. Boshi turns back round.

Special feature: This was judged as “Shinshinto Jumyo” by NBTHK, many swordsmiths
made this type of swords from the early Edo to the late, because it was thought to be
good luck charm. Samurai welcomed this sword as a gift.

Koshirae :
Tsuba:Oval iron Tsuba, dragonfly is engraved.
Fuchikashira: Iron plate, arabesque pattens are engraved elaborately.
Saya: Black saya, designed roundly uneven: Kawari Nuri Saya(oddly painted saya)
Menuki: Shakudo plate, probably insect is engraved: detail is unknown.

From Aoi Art: In my opinion, this work is apparently similar to the works from Yokoyama
Yuichi school, although Kesho-Yasuri is slightly different, it has to be made by Ashu
Sukeyoshi. There are no particular flaws or defects, it shall show more beautiful Hamon
if it gets polished in the future. This is a firm piece of art made in the late Edo period.
Koshirae is also well-made, we definitely recommend this work for you.
