This sword belongs to the Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.by the highest polisher.
Habaki: Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 75.0 cm or 29.5 inches.
Sori :2.0cm or 0.78 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi: 3.51cm or 1.38 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.88 cm or 1.13 inches.
Kasane : 0.75 cm or 0.29 inches.
The weight of the sword 975 grams.
Era: Modern
Shape: Very wide and thick sword with deep Sori and longer Kissaki. Bohi is engraved
on bothside.
Jigane : Ko-Itame-Hada well grained, Jinie attached Hadame is visible clearly.
Hamon : Niedeki Suguha based. Ashi, Sunagashi, Kinsuji worked.

Special feature: Ono Yoshimitsu was borned 1948 October 16th at Nigata
prefecture, Nishiurahara area. He start to studying making
sword from Yoshihara Yoshindo and Yoshihara Souji in
1969. In 1980, he received a license to make swords by
himself and just during 10 years, he received outstanding
performance award 6 times and become Mukansa sword
smith. One of his most famous sword is Sanchomo, which
copied Uesugi’s family treasure. At this time, there is no
sword smith was decided as living national treasure, but in
our opinion, Ono Yoshimitsu is the sword smith very
probable to become it. This sword is copy of Rai school
and we think it most similar to Rai-Kuniyuki

From Aoi Art: This sword was copied Rai school of Kamakura period. Jigane is
very beautiful, Hamon is Suguha with Ashi. Polished was
done by highest-ranking polisher. Mr. Ono Yoshimitsu made
Sanchomo Ichimonji, the sword was specified as Japanese
National treasure. He is one of best modern swordsmith and
his sword’s price is become expensive day by day. We
strongly recommend you to get his sword while you can.

After your purchase, we will obtain a certificate of authenticity from The Foundation of Japanese Sword Culture for the purpose of public interest.

Also, because the sword is too huge, the Shirasaya has some crack. It will take extra cost but if you want to fix or make new Shirasaya, please let us know.
