From Aoi Art: Bizen swords enjoyed the greatest prosperity in the latter half of the Muromachi period, because the best iron sand was produced in the mountains in Bizen and there were a lot of demands for swords in the time of war, and they worked extremely hard to produce the finest Japanese swords. In other words, they had the quality promised by their long history.
However, as they produced a large amount of swords, the production method of mass productive items came out, and at the time of change from Muromachi period to the Tokugawa Shogunate period; which decreased the demands for the swords because there were less wars, and besides by the flood in Yoshii River in the 1590, Bizen Osafune school was devastated. The production of Japanese swords stopped for a while, but in the Edo period, Shinto Bizen sword makers restarted sword making and the fire of swordsmiths lit again in Bizen.
This work follows the technique of the Muromachi period and creates a work made by suguha hamon on well developed Jigane.
Koshirae is made with a theme of Shishi botan. It is a well-made work, so we definitely recommend this sword with Koshirae for you.
