Era : Tempo era, the Edo period. 1841.
Shape :The blade is wide and powerfully thick,
slightly long-sized Sunnobi-Tanto.
Jigane : Koitame-hada well grained, Jinie attached to be a beautiful Jigane.
Hamon :Niedeki, Hitatsura-ba, especially the Hamon gets harshly exaggerated from near Monouchi to the tip, weak Kinsuji works in Hachu. Boshi is sharp and turns back to be Hakigake.

Special feature: Enju Kuniyuki was a swordsmith in Higo, a son of Kunimasa and called himself as a 25th generation of Enju Kunimura. Watching the sword in detail, a huge amount of Hamon works in Jigane and it was intended to make old pieces like Hasebe in the Nambokucho period.

From Aoi Art: Sword smiths from Kyushu in the Edo period, especially from Higo, tended to make thick, powerful works. This is made in the same way, and the condition is very healthy. Jigane is good, and the Hamon is unique: Sho Gunome-Midare from near Hamachi, drastic Hitatsura from near Monouchi, Kaeri is deep and Hamon comes into Mune, and reaches Munemachi. In our opinion, we rarely have the swords with Hitatsura Hamon in the Shinto. What is also rare about this work is, that it is engraved in the stem that he made this sword at the house of Mr. Niwa, the 8th generation of Higo in February of Tempo 11(1842). A thick and healthy Sunnobi Tanto, just like Higo works, which we can truly recommend for you. Furthermore, works of the Tempo era are relatively in very good condition and made by very good skills because in those days lots of swordsmiths improved themselves in the fight for survival in the market.
