Special feature:Tatemaru shaped polished iron Tsuba, a dragon is engraved by Sukidashi-takabori method and inlayed. The rim is inlayed by Nikubori and colored with gold.

From Aoi Art:A dragon is engraved on the thick and deep-colored iron Tsuba, this is so dynamic that we feel as if the dragon was now in front of us, with the dynamic engraving which dragon comes out from the rim. Engraved in detail as small scales of the dragon, we can see that his technique and skills as a metalsmith are a world apart one. Besides, iron is polished very carefully to make the Tsuba simply look very beautiful, and to make the dragon look more present.

Seiryuken Eiju was a metalsmith in Edo period, who made his career flourishly in Settsu(today Osaka). He was originally a disciple of Tetsugendo Shoraku Naoshige and called himself also as Tetsugendo, but later they broke up their relationship and went back to home, and renamed himself as Eiju.
As we can see on his name Sei”ryu”ken(Ryu=dragon), dragon engraving is his speciality, besides this work has NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon Paper. We truly recommend this Tsuba for your collection.
