This sword belongs to Jyo-saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold color painting Habaki.
Blade length : 56.4 cm or 22.2 inches.
Sori : 1.1cm or 0.43 inches.
Mekugi : 2
Width at the hamachi : 2.55cm or 1.00 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.9cm or 0.74 inches.
Kasane : 0,49cm or 0.19 inches.
The weight of the sword 440 grams.
Era : Early Edo period.
Shape : Sugiage Mumei sword with regular width and thickness, Sori. Kissaki is longer.
Jigane : Ko-Itame-Hada well grained. Jinie attached clearly, beautiful Jigane.
Hamon : Niedeki, Nioikuchi deep Gunome-Midare, Sunagashi and Kinsuji worked. Boshi
is Notare, Hakikake, Yakizume style.

Special feature: Monju is Yamato sword smiths. Nanki Kunishige is one of the most famous sword smith around Edo period and this sword has his special feature. Deep Nioikuchi Gunome-
Midare go up and down, Sunagashi and Kinsuji worked and
Boshi is Yakizume style. Monju is Yamato’s school but
their swords are very different from other Yamato schools.
There is small Kizu around Habaki, but it is no a big
problem. This sword was judge as Monju school’s sword
by NBTHK, but we can say clearly this is Nanki Kunishige.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Ofuku style iron Tsuba. A rope design is engraved with copper.
Fuchikashira: Brass plate, a rope design is engraved.
Saya: Blue color. Coating by blue shell powder and gold leaf powder.
Menuki: Brass plate, some pattern is engraved.
