Special feature:Features: Saito Ichiro Kiyondo was born in Usyu Syonai Ooizumi sou (today’s Onkai Onsen)
in the 10th year of Bunsei. It is said that his birthplace was a hot spring inn in this area.
He left kaei in April of the 5th year, and became a disciple of Minamoto Koyomaro. It
is said that this apprenticeship was taken care of by the metalworker Funada Ikkin from Shonai.
Well represented. After that, he paid off his master Koyomaro’s sword bond, which made Kiyondo’s name high.

From around 2nd year of Bunkyu, he moved to Kanda Ogawamachi and
started making swords. Received Buzen Kami in July of 3rd year of
Keio, and then went back and forth with his hometown.
He made a sword while giving up the path of sword making for the abolition of the sword in August 1902,
and he returned to his　hometown Atsumi and spent his last years as the owner of the inn and
died on August 24, 1884. His style includes the work of his master
Minamto Kiyomaro and the masame that he learned in his hometown.

Kiyomaro, his master who hangs down bo-shi and turns into a big
round hakikake, is said to be a genius and has been ordered by many people, but he was a drinker.
Kiyondo started out because Kiyomaro cut himself by his own swoed
in the end even though it was not produced easily and payment was
made, and Kiyondo took the debt of his master even though it was
only two yearsworking time. All the works were completed and all were paid off.
Kiyondo is also excellent at straight blades and produces masame well.
Several of them have passed the Jyuyo Token. With this Masame.
This is Kiyondo’s Masame deki hamon, which is the highest quality
work left by Ubu ha and I would definitely recommend it. At Sendai,
Kunikane produced Masame deki’s work, and Kiyondo probably learned
masame from those swordsmiths. It is a wonderful masame work.
Although it is picked by masame, it can be polished by the polishing
method so that masame can be seen more, but you can still see
masame hada sufficiently.
Koshirae is the Koshirae that the high-class samurai of the time had.
The sword is Kiyomaro’s most reliable ̊iyondo and known as a lawful
person, Kiyondo’s Masame work is wonderful.
