Era : Edo period kansei era. 1796.
Shape: The blade is wide and thick with suitable sori and long kissaki.

Special feature: Satsuma province produced excellent swordsmiths under
the patronage of the Shimazu family. Motohira, born as a son of
retained swordsmith Oku Motonao in 1744 was a representative
swordsmith in early Shin-to
period. Motohira succeeded the headship of the family in 1777 and was appointed
Yamato
(No) Kami in 1789. His younger brothers Mototake and Motoyasu were also
excellent
swordsmith and their collaboration still survive. Motohira passed away in 1826,
aged
83.

Chikei works for Ji, and Sunagashi and Kinsuji work while Nie works
strongly for the blade. The charm of the Satsuma sword often appears,
and kissaki is also finding a special feature of Satsuma blade.
Koshirae :Tsuba is made of Kenjyo syakudo Tsuba.and Menuki and
Fuchikashira are also fine dragon motif with gold color.
