This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled double habaki.
Blade length: 54.76 cm or 21.56 inches.
Sori :1.303cm or 0.513 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2,98cm or 1.173 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.11cm or 0.83 inches.
Kasane : 0.6cm or 0.236 inches.
The weight of the sword 500 grams.
Era : Edo period Kanei era. 1640.
Shape : The blade is Yubu nakago with one hole,
rather wide and thick with deep sori and longer kissaki beautiful nice shape.
Jigane :Masame hada well grained with jinie attach and chikei work along with
masame hada.
Hamon :Niedeki Suguha based bright and clear Hamon. sunagashi and kinsuji work, nioikuchi rather deep.

Special feature:Yamashiro Daijyo Fujiwara Kunikane lives in Kokubu Jyakurin (Sendai
Castle) and is said to be the end of Ho-syo Sadamune. At first, change to Minamoto
Genzo with Hongo Yoshiyuki. He moved to Kyoto at the behest of Daimyo Date
Masamune and became a student of Eccyu Kamo Masatoshi. The following year Genna

Osaka no Jin happened in April and Kunikane returned to Sendai to engage in making
swords. In the same year, he entered the gate of Masatoshi again and returned after five

From Aoi Art:The name of this work is Yamashiro Daijyo Fujiwara Kunikane, and it is thought that the name is near the end of the Kanei era.
Kunikane has been active as a disciple of Eccyu Kami
Masatoshi for a long time from beginning to end, but he should have been there,
but I have never seen any work other than Masame hada.
It is a swordsmith that it can be evaluated as Shinto no 1 because
the grain is also Masame hada and suguha hamon.
This Masame is extremely difficult to make and find it thesedays. please check it carefully.
