This sword belongs to Jyo-jyo ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki :　Silver single habaki.
Blade length : 22.3 cm or 8.77 inches.
Sori 0.0 cm or 0.0 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.42cm or 0.95 inches.
Kasane : 0.74cm or 0.29 inches.
The weight of the sword 175 grams.
Era : Late Edo period.
Shape : It reminds of Kanmuri Otoshi. The blade is wide and thick.
Jigane : Ko Itame Hada well grained with Jinie attach.
Hamon : from Hamachi is Suguha Hamon and then Nie deki, rounded shape Gunome Midare with many Ashi.
Boshi is Notare style and round shape.

Special feature: Suishinshi Masatsugu was a son of Naotame.
He was adopted by Naotane Taikei’s master, Suishinshi Masahide( 2nd generation).
He studied under his father and also Suishinshi Masahide.
The style is very similar to Naotane, Soshuden.
He passed away on March 11th, 1860.

Tsuba : Iron Hamidachi Tsuba, grapes is engraved with gold color.
Menuki : Wild boar is engraved with gold color.
Fuchikashira: Kojiri: Shibuichi, wave and dragon are engraved with gold color.
Kozuka: Shakudo Nanako, peony is engraved with gold color.
Kogatana: Signature: Hizen Junin Tadayoshi Saku.

From Aoi Art: Masatsugu was the son ofNaotane , who learned training techniques from his father, became Suishinshi Masahide and his second son-in-law, and succeeded the third generation, Suishinsi Masahide or the second generation at that time. Masahide’s work tends to produce retro swords, and Masatsugu devoted himself to the style of his real father Naotane and produced similar works, so Suinshinshi Masahide first and second generations. Unlike the style, the inscription is not cut with Masahide for the rest of his life, but with Masatsugu. He lived inOkachimachi Town, Edo, and died at the young age of 47 in the first year of Man’en (1860). Although this work is unnamed, it has been identified as Masatsugu at the Japanese Sword Museum. At first glance, it reminds me of Sekisyu Naotsuna, who made Soshuden. It is work. What is a wonderful work and the inscription is renewed? I think it would be a metalworker around the Meiji era. All fittings were made by the person name Isshin, but we do not know who is this.
