This sword belongs to Jyo-jyo ranking.
The blade was polished.

Habaki : silver double habaki.
Blade length :  66.5cm or 26.18 inches.
Sori : 1.0 cm or 0.39 inches.
Mekugi: 2 
Width at the hamachi: 2.89cm or 1.13 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.08cm or 0.81 inches.
Kasane : 0.55 cm or 0.21 inches.
The weight of the sword 560 grams.

Era : Edo period. Tenpo Era 1644
Shape: Regular width and thickness, shallow Sori and longer Kissaki sword with Orikaeshi Mei.
Jigane: Yamashiro’s unique Koitame-Hada well grained, Jinie attached beautiful Jigane.
Hamon :Niedeki, deep Nioikuchi Gunome-Midare Futae-ba and Sudare-ba. Sunagashi and Kinsuji worked.

Special feature: Kyo Tanba Yoshimichi is the founder of a Hamon called Sudare-Ha(Ba).
After that, the Sudare-Ha blades were made in Osaka and
Kyoto. The 2nd generation of Tanba was called Mishina Fuji
Shichiro. He got the name “Tanba no Kami” and the right to engrave
Kikumon (chrtsanthemum crest) in 1639.
He was the first swordsmith who got the right to use the Kikumon.
Afterward, it was passed down to the next generations.
This blade is completed Sudare-Ha and full of rustic charm. It is rare the engraving of “8 Gatsu
Kichijitsu (lucky day in August)”.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Mokko style iron Tsuba. Mimi is Tachiage style.
Fuchikashira: Shakudo Nanako plate. Plants are engraved with gold color.
Saya: Azuki color elegant Saya.
Menuki: Shakudo plate. The snail is engraved with gold color.
