which were high reputation from Mikawa samurai.
Muramasa was a son of the Seki Kanemura and made swords and Tanto
from Eisyo era to Tenbun era.
According to the story, Muramasa made misfortune to the Tokugawa shogun.
Especially the sword which was assisted Tokugawa Nobuyasu in
committing hara-kiri by beheading him by Muramasa. Tokugawa Ieyasu
felt sadness and ordered to leave Muramasa aroud him. After hearing
this message, most of Daimyo avoided Muramasa or remove the
signature on the tang.
This blade is also removed the signature at that time.
But I can distinguish the signature of the Muramasa slightly.
Yoto Muramasa(mysterious sword)was spread to the world by Kabuki theater.
So Japanese people believe as high mysterious marvelous sword.
Even if the signature was removed, the value of the Muramasa is not down.

From Aoi Art :Most of Muramasa’s works are Tanto mainly , and there are very few
swords made.
As a feature, it is a blackish jigane with Jinie and chikei.
There are many works in which on the Jigane and the scenery is mixed, and there are
works with beautiful softness, but the former work is rather popular.
kThis work has a Utsuri on the ground iron. The blade pattern has a habit of having the
same blade pattern on the front and back side which can be said to be the basis of
appraisal. The Bo-shi became Jizo-style and the returns long side. In hakikake bo-shi,
strong Kinsuji work.
