This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo Saku ranking. (cutting test )
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Habaki: copper single Habaki.
Blade length : 71.0 cm or 27.95 inches.
Sori : 1.7 cm or 0.66 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi: 3.37cm or 1.33 inches.
Width at the Kissaki: 2.29cm or 0.9 inches.
Kasane : 0.78 cm or 0.3 inches.
Era : Edo period Tenpo era.1842.
Shape: The blade is wide(3,37cm) and thick with suitable sori and long
kissaki.
Jigane: Koitame hada well grained with jinie attach beautiful nice texture.
Hamon: From Hamachi, nisseki suruga and then, choji midare with small ash bo-shi is
round shape with deep nioikuchi.

Special feature: This is a sword made by Cho-un-sai Tsunatoshi. Tsunatoshi is the
third son of Izumi Kami Kunihide and the younger brother of Kato Tsunahide who was a
master of the Yamagata domain and a sword smith. Kansei Ten
Born in the year (1798). Dewa, the home country, is said to be the Uesugi clan of the
Yonezawa domain. He was called Kato Hachiro and was also named Koretoshi, who learned from Suishinshi Masahide.
After that, he moving to Edo and also moving up to Osaka and studying under Suzuki
Harukun. Then he traveled to the western, Kumamoto province.
Transferred his generation to his sons Koreyoshi and Tsunatoshi, and changed the
name to Chojusai.
He died at the age of 66 in December 1863.

Koshirae :
Saya: black roar saya.
Tsuba: On the oval shape iron tsuba, flowers design is engraved with gold
color.
Menuki: A car that carries the aristocrats of the time with cows is highly
carved on the shakudo ground and painted with gold.
Fuchikashira: A flower pattern is painted on the iron ground with gold.

From Aoi Art: It is a solid sword with the cutting test name of Chounsai Tsunatoshi.
A custom-made work by Noriyoshi Goto, in the middle of January 13 (Tiger year) in
Tempo, in Edo Senju.
It is a sharp work. The orderer, Nori Goto, was probably a
samurai at the end of the Edo period.
The work that was cut off with the inscription Musashi Efuju is unseen and valuable
material.
