Signature : Mumei attributed as Bizen Osafune Chikakage.

Sayagaki: Mr.Tanobe Bizen Kuni Osafune Chikakage oosuriage mumei　
rather narrow kokissaki style deep sori elegant shape. Even right　now the blade has Koshizori
and midareutsuri appear koitame　hada and small choji midair
with sakasa cyoji midair rather tight nioideki.
The sword has special feature of the kagemitsu which
was same students and find special feature the blade is Yuhin
(high ranking nice sword) The length is 2Shaku 5sun5bu
Tanzan shiki kao.

The blade was polished.
Habaki : Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length : 77.3cm or 30.4 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 2.75 cm or 1.08 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 1.66 cm or 0.65 inches.
Kasane : 0.68 cm or 0.26 inches.

Era : Late Kamakura period Genou era.
1319 about 700 years ago.
Shape : The blade is longer size with regular width,
thickness with deep sori and longer kissaki. Beautiful shape.
Jigane :Koitame hada and komokume hada well grained with Nie attach thickly
and clear Utsuri appear on the beautiful texture.
Hamon :Nioideki style Suguha with small ashi and boshi is Sansaku style.

Special feature: Chikakage was a student of the Nagamitsu and worked
around late Kamakura period. His peaces are very similar
with Kagemitsu and name is also very close and Hamon is
also same style.

Koshirae: Tachi Koshirae
Tsuba: Shakudo, Tachi style Tsuba, Aoi Mon are engravd with gold color.
Fuchikashira and other fittings : Shakudo, Aoi Mon are engravd with gold color.
Menuki : Shakudo, Aoi Mon are engravd with gold color.
Saya: Nashi-Ji Saya, Aoi Mon are painted with gold color.

sword maker of students of the Nagamitsu and was a
representative Hizen swordsmiths. This sword has Sayagaki
of Mr. Tanobe which says the sword is very long and still
keep the shape and beautiful Jigane with Utsuri. Suguha
with Ashi. We recommend this master peace for you. We
think the old owner was a Daimyo.
