This sword belongs to Jyo Saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Habaki: Gold foiled single Habaki.
Blade length: 21.3 cm or 8.38 inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi:28.5 cm or 11.2 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
The weight of the sword 170 grams.
Era : End of Edo period
Shape: Regular width but thick Tanto.
Jigane: Ko-Itame-hada well grained. Jihada appears clearly.
Hamon: From Hamachi, Nie-deki Suguha then Gunome-Midare and Togari-Gunome-Midare mixed. Boshi is round in shape

Special feature: Shigenori is probably a sword smith worked around the end of Edo period.

Koshirae :
Tsuba: Brass plate, characters are engraved.
Fuchikashira: Copperplate, a dragonfly is engraved.
Saya: Black Ishimeji saya.
Menuki: Copperplate, a bee is engraved.
Koziri: Copperplate.
Kozuka: Copperplate. Bamboo, bird, old man are engraved.

From Aoi Art: It has Mei as Norishige but we do not know him. Maybe he is one of the swordsmiths who lost a job because of the sword prohibition.
