The blade was polished.
Habaki :　Gold foiled single habaki.
Blade length :　70.3　cm or 27.67 inches.
Sori :　1.36　cm or 0.53 inches.

Width at the hamachi : 3.07cm or 1.20 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 0.98 cm or 0.38 inches.
Kasane : 0.69　cm or 0.27 inches.
The weight of the sword 680 grams.
Era : Meiji
Shape : wide and thick Katana with Ububa, longer Kissaki, nice shape Katana. The Nakago is Kijimomo shape. The signature is engraved as Hakiomote style. This is unique copy of Koto.
Probably with his prdodiction age “67” is engraved.
Jigane : Itame Hada well graiend. Muji style.
Hamon : Nie Deki, Suguha Hamon. The Ha is bright.

Special feature: Hayama Enshin, his real name is Suzuki Masaaki.
He was born in Koka 2 year(1846). And moved to Edo and studied at Suzuki Masao who was a student of the Kiyomaro.
At that time Enshin was asked to make a sword by using this swedish steal. He made a sword by using swedish iron and Tamahagane which was very sharp cut well sword.
From that period he became well known sword maker.
He passed away February 4th in 1920.
Unfortunately Japanese government issued abrogation law against Japanese swords at Meiji era. So he had to close his business making swords any longer.

Koshirae : Army Gunto Koshirae.

From Aoi Art: From of Meiji period, the Japanese government ban to make and hold Katana, but it still able to make Katana only for the army. Japanese army started to adopt European cultures. Jounsai Hayama was made a swords with Swedish iron and it was very popular because of the sharpness. Most of his pieces are Suguha but there are also some Gunome-Midare with Choji. Jigane is a beautiful Muji style.
