Naginata Naoshi Katana in Shirasaya(NBTHK Hozon Token)(Consignment Sale)

Signature : Mumei (Kogai Hoju)

(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This blade belongs to Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.
Blade length : 72.7 cm or 28.62 inches.
Sori : 2.1 cm or 0.82 inches.
Mekugi : 1
Width at the hamachi : 2.83 cm or 1.11 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Early to middle Muromachi period
Shape : Regular width and thickness Katana with large Sori, Naginata Naoshi style Katana.
Jitetsu :Itame Hada and O-Itame hada mixed with Jinie attach.
Hamon : Nie Deki Suguha, there are Sunagahis and Kinsuji.

Special feature: The founder of the Hoju. started from middle
Kamakura period and continued this school to middle Muromachi
period by several generations. 
The name of the Hoju is quite lucky name(Treasure and Kotobuki) .
At Tohoku area(Nothern part of Japan) Mogusa, Gassan are well known sword makers.
It is very curious that the Kyushu sword like Kongo hyoid, Konaminohira and Houju and Gassan are
same quality.
Tohoku area,and Kyushu district are very far departed but it is strange because the sword is very similar.
I think the iron sand is almost the same as both countries.
