This sword is listed on page 11 of the Fujishiro Toukou Jiten(藤代刀工辞典), in the chapter on Bakuden Bando Taro(朴伝坂東太郎).

This sword belongs to Jyo Jyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished.

Kasane :0.6cm or 0.2inches.

Shape: Mihaba’s work is wide and solid, and the warp is shallow. Kissaki’s work has a slightly extended appearance.
Jigane: Itamehada well grained, and has a swelling like a clam shell.
Hamon: Niedeki Gunome-midare with deep Nioikuchi. There is Sungashi and Kinsuji in the Hamon.

Era: early Edo period, ca. Enpo (late 17th century)
Features: Nousyu Seki Zenryou Ke Echizen Kami Yoshikado, also known as Bokuden Bando Taro, is a swordsmith from Hitachi, who was highly favored by the local people.
This work is listed in the Fujishiro Swordsmiths’ Dictionary. (Bokuden Bando Taro, Shintou Kamisaku, p. 11)
Echizen Kami Yoshikado is a disciple of Omura Kaboku. Echien Kami Yoshikado is his first name as a swordsmith, and later he changed his name to Musashi Kami Yoshikado. He and move to Mito and became a swordsmith in the service of Mito Mitsukuni in 1672. He changed his name to Bando Taro Jinjo Nyuden around 1676 . He died in 1688.

From Aoi Art: Bokuden Bando Taro is famous, but he did not make many swords, it is a bit rare. This sword is listed in the Fujishiro Toukou Jiten (Dictionary of Fujishiro swordsmiths). We highly recommend this sword.
