like this one. He was the younger brother of Tsunahide KATO, who was a Yamagata Clan craftsman and a master of the Toran blade. Born in the 10th year of Kansei (1798). He is called Dewa, the home country, and the Uesugi family of the Yonezawa clan. He called himself Hachiro Kato, and also called himself Koretoshi.
He studied under Suishinko Masahide and called himself Chounsai. He moved to Edo and then went up to Osaka,
After studying under Harukuni Suzuki, he traveled around Saigoku and settled in Kumamoto. In the third year of Ansei (1856), he handed over Chounsai to his son Koretoshi, the
second Tsunatoshi. Changed his name to Chojusai. From around 1823, he lived in the residence of the Uesugi family in Azabu, Edo. He died in December 1863 at the age of 66. His nephew was Koreichi Ishido VII, and his disciples included Soji Kozan, Naganobu Takahashi, Moritoshi Seiryuken, and other outstanding disciples. He established a major school in Edo at the end of the Edo period. According to Bizen Den, it was said that he was stronger than the Suishinko family.
