The blade was polished.
Blade length : 70cm or 27.56inches.
Sori : 1.2cm or 0.47inches.
Mekugi: 1
Width at the hamachi : 3.23cm or 3.23inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.36cm or 0.93inches.
Kasane : 0.71cm or 0.28 inches.
Weight of only blade:860g
Era : Edo period Enkyo(1744)
Shape : It is wide(3.23cm!) and thick magnificent looking katana
with slight sori. It is long end katana.
Jitetsu : Koitame hada well grained with jinie attached.
There are chikei works seen which as whole impression gives us that it is dark jigane.
Hamon : Nie base with deep nioiguchi. From the hamachi it is suguha
with some gunome midare following.
There are ups and downs in the gunome midair line. There are some coarse nie.
There are sunanagashi , kinsuji works. The boushi is round ended.

Special feature : Oumi no kami Hisamichi is named Horitarou-bee
and was born in Kanei 3rd year（1626） at Eshu Noshu ward.
He was a student of secede generation Iganokami Kinmichi
and was chosen as one of five great sword smith of that time.
He first received the chair of Oumi Daijyo at Kanbun 1st year
and have become Oumi kami. There are chrysanthemum emblem at the top part of the signature.
To be more specific, the emblem on this katana tang called Edakiku emblem.
Edakiku is a chrythanthemum with leaves and branches.
It is well known that Hisamichi uses this emblem.
This sword is wide and thick magnificent looking sword.
The charm of nie work is fully expressed.
The jigane and chikei work is especially food. The hamon is coarse and rustic.
There are many activities in the ha such as sunagashi and kinsuji works.
It is masterpiece of Hisamichi.
He was a long living sword smith at the time who has passed away
at Shotoku 1st year(１７１４） at age of 85.

Historical background: It was a period of Tokugawa Yoshimune.
At Enkyo first period,a Japanese puppet show (in which the story is narrated
and sung to a samisen accompaniment) was performed.
The title of the show was Yoshimune Senbon Zakura(Yoshitsune and
One Thousand Cherry Trees). The story was premiered at Toyotake-za Theater in Osaka.
